Moulin Rouge by Kyriaki , Irene and Antri.

Moulin rouge is a musical and a romance set in Paris.
The film is directed by Baz Luhrman. The most important stars are Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor. The plot is about Christian (Ewan McGregor), a gifted writer with an idealistic outlook on love, sets off for Montmartre, Paris despite his father’s warnings. He moves from the notorious nightclub that is the Moulin Rouge, where girls do the naughty can-can... and more. It is here where Christian befriends Toulouse-Lautrec (John Leguizamo), who wants to put on a musical production to further the Bohemian movement. He wants Christian to write it and have the most beautiful and famous star of the Moulin Rouge, Satine (Nicole Kidman), to play the lead. The ever-so-romantic Christian falls madly in love with Satine, but things get complicated when the wealthy financial backer of the production wants Satine for himself. Satine is torn between the two, but like a true actress, she knows that the show must go on.
It is one of the year's best films. This tragi-comic musical is Luhrmann's most innovative feature, one that creates its own hightened world, defying historical authenticity and the established conventions of Hollywood musicals.I was totally absorbed by the film’s amusing absurdity. Nicole Kidman is great as the seducing Satine, and I also admire Ewan McGregor’s performance. Credit is to be given to anybody who can act just as well as Kidman. The supporting cast is also great, especially John Leguizamo, adding to the rich texture of the film.

MAMMA MIA by Maria

Mamma Mia(2008) is a musical, comedy and romance directed by Phyllida Lloyd. It stars Meryl Streep as Donna, Pierce Brosnan as Sam, Amanda Seyfried as Sophie, Stellan Skarsgard as Bill,, Nancy Balwin as Sam’s PA, Colin Firth as Harry and Rachel McDowall as Lisa. Set on a colorful Greek island, the plot serves as a background for a wealth of ABBA songs. A young woman about to be married discovers that any one of three men could be her father. She invites all three to the wedding without telling her mother, Donna, who was once the lead singer of Donna and the Dynamos. In the meantime, Donna has invited her backup singers, Rosie and Tanya. Sophia Sheridan is 20 years old and lives with her mother Donna on an idyllic Greek island. She is about to be married and wishes for only one thing: that her father walk her down the aisle and give her away. The only problem is that she doesn't know who her father is and her mother won't discuss it with her. After she finds her mom's diary from the year she was born, she invites three men who could possibly be that man. Sophie is convinced that she will know her father as soon as she sees him but soon realizes that she hasn't a clue. Mayhem ensues when her mother is displeased and confused that the three are there, the men all think they're the father and her fiancĂ© is getting fed up with the whole mess.
The acting is perfect and definitely unique. The film includes many songs because it is musical and this makes it very interesting.”Take a Chance...’ is brilliant!

While the majority of the film is brilliantly silly, Meryl Streep gives us an emotional show stopping performance of ‘The Winner Takes It All.” Pierce Brosnan is humorously over-emoting but it has worked perfectly within the context of the film.
It is recommended for young and old. It is fun and amusing. It is rated with 5 stars!

On the ship there is also the young artist Jack Dawson. He meets Rose when she tries to jump in the water. He stops and calms her. Rose invites him for a first class dinner to thank him for the help. After that a friendship starts between Rose and Jack. Finally Rose and Jack recognize the love between them and they are very happy for some hours...until the ship hits an ice berg.
I think it is the best movie ever! It has everything; a great movie needs a great love story, humor, and great action scenes! The effects are impressive. I love this film.

House of Wax by Maria E. & Christina A

The House of Wax is a horror film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. It is set in the USA. It stars Paris Hilton as Paige Edwards, Elisha Cuthbert as Carly Jones,Chad Michael Murray as Nick Jones, Brian Van Holt as Vincent, Jared Padalecki as Wade and Jon Abrahams as Dalton Chapman

Teenage friends Nick Jones, Wade, Dalton Chapman, Blake, Carly Jones and Paige Edwards must camp in a godforsaken part of Louisiana on their way to a college football game and get a good scare finding a pile of deer meat and one human arm- fake. After the fan belt of Wade's car breaks, he decides, not really a fan anyway, to stay behind with his girl while the others drive on. The two accept local's ride, but rather rudely make him stop doubting his sincerity, as turns out just outside the nearest town he tips them off to have a garage. It's a sleepy place, where they are scolding for interrupting a funeral to get the mechanic. Waiting for him, they wonder into the town's only attraction, an empty wax figures museum. After his arrival, they split up and their nightmare starts, ultimately being captured and tortured by a madman, or two, who already produced the wax people from once live ones. Meanwhile the other mates give up braving a traffic jam that make them lose time to attend the match, and return, only to fall prey themselves. Still some survive and fight back.
The film received a lot awards. Paris Hilton got the award for the best frightening performance. She also won the award for the choice movie scream scene Paige's scream when she's being chased by the killer. We really liked the film because of the action scenes, fright and because the actors are very good. We rate the film with four stars (****).
